Thereafter, you will hit the road to Volcanoes national park, a 2-3 hours’ scenic drive through a scenic route marked with undulating hills, and green Vegetation.

You will arrive at the lodge in or around the park late in the evening and proceed with refreshment, dinner, and overnight.

The fact that pre-trekking briefing starts at approximately 8:30 am, you will start your day very early in the morning with an energy-giving cup of coffee, and then head to the Park headquarters for document verification and Briefing. Together with the rest of the trekkers, the park rangers will explain to trekking rules and allocate members to the different habituated Gorilla families of your choice.

The quest starts as soon as the briefing is done, with the rangers helping in the search, which will start from where the creatures were last seen. It can last for about 1-6 hours, depending on one’s trekking speed and the direction these creatures have taken, plus one extra hour for photography, sightseeing, and questions-answers session.

Interestingly, expect to encounter and discover several primate species, plant species, reptile species, and mammals, as well as the sights and sound of your relatives, the mountain gorillas. After the reunion, you will withdraw from the Jungle for Lunch and then head for lunch before deciding to either visit the unique Musanze caves or drive back to Kigali depending on time of your flight or to your residence.
